APPLY | The U17 European Championship final tournament for boys, taking place in Estonia, is looking for volunteers
This spring, Estonia will host a major football event as the boys’ U17 European Championship final tournament takes place from 25 May to 7 June, where the European champion of this age group will be decided. To help organise the tournament, interested individuals are invited to apply to become volunteers.
Estonia will host matches at four different stadiums: in Tallinn, games will be played at A. Le Coq Arena, Kadriorg Stadium, and Kalev Central Stadium, while group-stage matches will also take place at Rakvere City Stadium. The tournament will culminate in the final on 7 June, which will be played at A. Le Coq Arena.
As a volunteer, participants will have the opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of the final tournament by working in various areas, including media, transport, match operations, spectator services, and more. The Estonian Football Association welcomes all those who wish to be part of Estonian football, gain experience in organising an international event, and who are reliable and committed. Previous volunteer experience is not required. The volunteer work period depends on the role – in addition to match days, some positions may begin up to a week before the start of the tournament.
The minimum age requirement for volunteers is 16 years; to work in the transport area, volunteers must be at least 21 years old. Applications are open until 31 March via the registration form. Interviews with candidates will take place after the application deadline.
The final tournament will feature national teams from eight different European countries. As the host nation, Estonia has already secured its place in the tournament, while the remaining seven teams will qualify through the qualification rounds.
The Estonian Football Association has previously successfully organised several major football events: the boys’ U19 European Championship final tournament in 2012, the Beach Soccer Euro League Superfinal in 2015, the UEFA Super Cup final at A. Le Coq Arena in 2018, and the girls’ U17 European Championship final tournament in spring 2023. In addition, the Estonian Football Association was set to host the boys’ U17 European Championship final tournament in 2020, which was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
